I am tentatively planning to Fly fish Barnstable Harbor for Stripers on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Hail call to any STS members who would like to meet up and spend a half a day of salt water fishing and start the summer out right. TRIP TO VERMONT

Went to visit an old friend in Vermont & to give a guy some rods & reels from the FFF for some casting schools he's doing in the local high schools. He lives in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and has some top notch wild brook trout, steelhead, and yes, Smallmouth Bass* fishing. Would love to get a group to go up there. Spring means black fly season, head nets, Woodsman's Fly Dope, and some great pain medication. His name is Doug Swanson 802-673-9993, and is a great guy....

Cape Cod Trout

For those hardy trout fishermen, I heard from a reliable source today that trout are being released at several of the ponds/lakes on Cape Cod this week by Mass Wildlife. Most of the Cape lakes have been open for some time. The rest of Mass will be scheduled for stocking dependig on the weather later this month

Sorry, I kind of dropped off the face of the earth over the winter. Nothing personal, I just got wrapped up in new work program commitments , house projects ( and shoulder problems). All this has kept ANYTHING fishing related on the back burner. I hope to be stopping in ( or at least lurking) more often as spring approach's. I need to get my priorities in order!

p.s. Alec, STOP posting all those GSB deals! I'm just getting the fleet paired down to a point where I can walk in...

Yes, it's late December and the snow's piling up, temps are down, and it's a long time between sunset and sunup, but...

December 22 was the first day of winter, which means the days are already getting longer!

January's a long month, but once we hit February the pages on the calendar seem to turn much faster. Chins up, boys. We've turned the corner.

Guys - I have gone ahead and reserved a campsite, site 31 at the Curlew Pond area at Myles Standish State Forest for the weekend of June 6, '08. Site 32 is just next door on one side, site 29 is next door on the other. If someone else wants to grab one of those, go for it! These are pop-up or tent sites only, though there are sites for larger rigs just a site or two away. Of course you don't have to camp overnite to attend, but if you want to, nows the time to book the sites as the...
