Got talking with a few angler brothers at church last Sunday and the subject of carp came up. Man, I know I say this every year, but I really want to target
those things this year. Gotta hit the Concord River near where folks feed the ducks and see what I can toss around that will imitate a hunk of bread.

The wife has been there to see the ducks scatter like mad once the carp realize there's food in the water. Says there are some monster fish in that river.

Mike,
doesn't surprise me. If they are in an eating frenzy, they will take almost anything. The wax worm fly is a fly I got on e bay. It is deadly with panfish,
they swallow it upon sight.
I hope to see a picture of your carp here soon.

Nice fly selection, Bill. I'm digging the gubs, especially.

The one I don't see is a fly that resembles a wad of chewed Dentyne gum. I spit my gum out in the Charles one day and a carp took it... never did take my
fly, however!

I'm posting photos of my carp flies just to show that many so called "carp flies" are not unique to just carp.
as long as carp are feeding, it is just a matter of making a good presentation.

go to e bay & get some bread flies. there are several e bay stores that offer these bread like flies on line. if bread is in the water these look alikes
can catch carp when they are clooping. when they are tailing try woolie buggers. I carry several colors( white, black, brown, green with and without bead
heads) experiment. basically any fly which is presented properly will catch carp. I've caught them using: Tarantulas, Madam X, crayfish flies, nymphs,
terresterials & woolie...
