While we revel in the memories of this past weekend and some of the best warmwater fishing we've ever enjoyed (and the most successful STS gathering by any
measure), it's time to start thinking about September. We talked a little about it during the lunch feast, but might be a good time to throw some ideas
out there for consideration.

One idea that I'll throw out was to hit Lake Rohunta on the Athol/Orange line on Route 2. Easy to get to, and we'd include a stop by a...

Rohunta is shallow. I think it's 15' at its deepest in the north basin, but below Route 2 I doubt it gets much deeper than 10' in the channel, and
off the channel it varies from 2' - 6'. Very topwater friendly.

Rohunta has some fairly weed-free water. The north basin (north of Rt 2) is pretty wide open. The area just south of Rt 2 has plenty of open water,
especially along the channel. The lower half of the lake, however, is socked right in except the main channel. That bass I got was in the pads, and if you
are willing to work, one of the fun things is sneaking into the pads and dropping surface bugs in the pockets. Bass and pickerel are bound to hammer the fly.

If folks are keen on camping, then Rohunta is definitely out, but there's plenty of space for access and gathering for the feed if that's the only

Hmmmmm... second thoughts about Rohunta. No, not because of the snappers; Seems to me one of the reasons last weekend was so enjoyable is that everything was
close at hand - fishing, camping, BBQ site....maybe we should look further for an "all inclusive location" before we make a final decision.
