I am fishing from a canoe. Old Town "Pack" model weighs 33 pounds, pne man canoe. I am unstable so I built a pontoon floating system. I also made a rig to take photos in the canoe of me. In the canoe since space is limited I could only take photos of fish on the paddle or on the floor. With gas prices going through the roof. I'm glad I have canoe power. I try to fish before and after dark, the big ones will cruise the shallows after dark.

The reel is an old Garcia ABU delta. Triangle confirguration with a half way drag, the spool rim is accessable from the outside. What I am amazed at my outfit. I'm using a 9 ft. Temple Fork 7 wgt. outfit with an eight wgt line. The line is peach colored, the running section is a little rough. This being the case I ame casting at a forty five degree angle to my body, tight loops and able to shoot out 80 - 100 ft. I think the line is a Cortland 444 peach but the running part has me baffled?

It was going to be a fantastic night. The wind died down, clouds rolled in. I was pitching my bug on the shoreline with 9 ft 7 wgt tfo with 8 wgt line, having fun watching bass get agitated. New bug - promising. Thundering and lightning.

Bug is tied on size 2 sproat hook, tail is Rainy foam damsel fly I think, hook shank deer body hair untrimed. No need for weedgiard. Next bug I'm using 2/0 hook, with long web salt water hackle instead of foam. AJ
