Matbe it's me, but I seem to notice some major differences between those that pursue warmwater fish, and those that chase coldwater fish.  These don't apply to everyone, but are very common :

Cost of gear.  Many of us who pursue bluegills and the like are using Pflueger Medalist reels, cast aluminum reels, and the like.  Many of the trout fans are toting the more expensive reels.  Many trout fans are armed with expensive bamboo rods and high end graphite rods too.  Many trout... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ I would like to say that several years ago i went to arkansas to fish the white river for trout only to realize upon arriving that i left my waders at home. I only had a few choices for purchasing some new waders while down there 5 hour drive from home, canvas, wal mart neoprene, or a really expensive pair of breathables made by orvis from the cane island fly shop. Although i realy couldnt afford the orvis at the time i purchased them anyway. At that time orvis offered a retro. warranty on... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I love to fly fish, no matter the species-carp, bass, trout, stripers, etc.  I, however, live in a state that is warmwater based, but look forward to vist my brother for striper fishing or vacation in the smokies-take the 4wt. or out in Wyoming for trout.  <br>
It depends on your situation. I have a friend in Alaska that just loves to come home for smallies, and 'gills, I also have a friend in Florida that comes up every summer to fish for smallies. ]]></description>

84 and drove 170k with my hair on fire.  <br>
(that photo is a few weeks before it sold)<br>

The guy that bought it from me two years ago searched the state and bought every Talbot (8 cars) that were sold here.  <br>

He had previously owned a GTV6 at the same time he had a Ferrari 308.  Said he found himself always driving the GTV6 because it was the most fun of all his vehicles.  <br>

Deals? You have to look around. Some years are better than others though I know for sure many people I know walk out of the show with a lot of flies. This is a very good time for dealers to get rid of overstocks, demo gear and obsolete stock. It's also a good time for them to try and EARN a good customer (if you get my drift!) <br>

All flyfishing magazines aren't peddlling the expensive gear...I've seen Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops advertisements in the magazines....full page ads for each.  <br>

BPS and Cabela's mail catalogs to people for free...all you have to do is ask.  Is this service free?  No, the company pays for the materials, shipping, etc.  Sage and Winston also offer free catalogs, and they absorb the costs for producing and mailing them too.  <br>
