I was very pleased when I received my mint 8wt Garcia with case this past winter. I didn't have any 8wts for buggin yet and the rod appeared to have never
been fished. I just love the style for a bass buggin rod. The rod is on the little on the heavy side but the vintage amber knobbed Pfleuger 1496&1/2 I
paired it with balances it quite well.
I have been waiting for the opportunity to use this combination since I lined the reel up with a Sci Angler Headstart a couple of months ago. Well tonight things finally came together and I was able to get out on the water in my Grumman at a local pond that as you can see has some ideal buggin water.
The herring spawn in this pond and the place was just crawling with baby herring fry. I have only really fished this area in the early spring so I wasn't expecting much in the way of action. I was just hoping for one decent bass to christen the setup and thats exactly what I got. It was great!!
Can't wait to get out and do it again...
