I spent monday morning bobbing and weaving in my new super cat float tube; near the North Channel bridge. It was a big learning curve.
It took me most of the morning to learn how to go in my intended direction rather than being sucked along by the currents.
The area we went to for stripers is a huge flat; at the deepest part during high tide i was no more than ten feet from the bottom. unfortunately no bait fish & therefore no fish. I plan to try near the Gerritsen Creek bridge my next time out. I hope the water will be cooler. We used ultra light equipment (6 wt rods & wf fly line). I finished the day WW fishing in Prospect Park for Crappie(#12 white woolie bugger).
