After years of reading opinions on this web site, I thought that this new web site might generate some thoughts. Go to www.bassnfly.com a new web site for the promotion of fly fishing for bass. It has fly only tournament information and one of its
founders wrote an article in World Tackle Trade titled "You Said You Wanted A Revolution" suggesting that now that saltwater angling slowed to a near
halt. that warm water fly fishing is the new frontier. They claim that the Scott rod company made the first fly rods for bass with their two tipped rod - one
tip for bass and one tip for trout. I'm sure many of us would disagree to the point where you could argue that the first fly rod that was made was made for
bass. " A paradigm change was in the the making. A smarter, more-self sufficient, less traditionally ensconced attitude was taking hold, particularly in a
younger generation of anglers no longer satisfied with the trout-dogma of their father's generation. And from this uber-angling (ueber) philosophy has come
once again - perhaps this time for real - if not a revolution, at least a genuine evolution beyond the traditional species. Carp are the new Bonefish and fly
fishing for bass, to hear it from John Sherman's perspective, now trumps trout any day" NOTE: John works for Outdoor Sports Products & represents
Sage, Sims, Rio, Umpqua, etc. The best part of the article was to hear of a Sage sponsored trip to Mexico to try out their new bass rods. That's one trip I
would have been happy to go on. See if you can find the article. I think it's just another attempt to push fly fishing for bass that will fade like all the
others - which is not necessarily bad.
