I am still planning on trying to come on Saturday. Looks like a repeat of the Burrage event as far as my arrival which might be around one o'clock. Anyone
float tubing or are you guys planning on boating?

I'm bringing my canoe - maybe the float tube too. It's a perfect pond for tubing. Remember that this is a 'gill pond, so light line rods are the
order of the day! Alec

Gang,
Get ready to tussle with some Gladiator Gills, the biggest, baddest bluegills a 2-6 wt flyrod can handle....Our STS June gathering is fast approaching, it is going to be a great time, I am sure. We want to make plans and make sure enough food, equipment and i. e. fishing supplies Float tubes, fly rods, waders, canoes, etc, etc, are available for all, so we need to get a head count. We will be there Friday evening, 6 of June til Monday afternoon, 9 June to fish all the available bodies of water around the camp site. There are about 6 fabulous fishing ponds within 3 miles of our camp site. So far these folks have confirmed to attend: Flytackle arriving 6 June Gillbuster arriving 6 June Goldie Caddis Jeffsod Would like to have as many members and friends attend...This is going to be a fishing, eating and tall tale marathon. Please confirm on this tread if you plan to attend. There are 3 days of fishing so any day can be used to get a belly full of bluegills, cowboy coffee and grub... The BBQ grill will be fired up all weekend long, we are going to eat like kings...until then Thanks Sam Hope to see you all soon Tight lines

Hi All,
I'm mostly a salt water guy and once in a while trout guy...looking for suggestions as to what to bring in my fly box. Lou P.S. What about line type? Can we get 'em to rise to poppers, etc.?

Lou - you should be fine with a floating line this time of year, as long as you have some weighted nymphs. In that the main quarry is 'gills, some nymphs
and small poppers are the order of the day. An intermediate or sinking line is a great idea if you have one - and foam spiders are a great topwater offering.
I'm sure we will all have a bunch of flies with us, and I for one intend to bring some tying equipment as well. John says that there are some smallmouths
in the Curlew too, so some streamers, wooly buggers or other bass type flies might be worth a shot. If all else fails, you can tie on a "Goldie"
which I'm sure we all will have, and spend the rest of the trip filleting fish!! Looking forward to wetting a line with you all! Alec
ps - It sounds like Spinzo and Bullet Nose (Mike and Frank) are gonna try and make it. Bring plenty of chow!!

Gonna try hard to be there. If I come I'll be bringing a guy from my church who is hoping to get into fly fishing this year. He's dabbled, but wants
to make an effort to really give it a go this year.
