For STS members who have attended the The Bears' Den Fly Fishing Expo;
"The planning for the 10th Annual FREE expo has been scheduled for Sunday, February 10th 2008 tentatively at the Holiday Inn in
Taunton, MA (best parking situation to date, premium food, drinks, phenomenal layout, and even a place to spend the night). Due to the promotional ideas
we're already planning for the future, this is likely to be Bears' Den last fly-fishing expo. Since this
is the tenth year of the show, we're doing it on a weekend so it will last all day. And who better to close out the 10-year legacy of the "Bear's
Den Fly-Fishing Expo" than our good friend Bernard "Lefty" Kreh."
We have had a table in the past to display "The Bass Pond website." I am willing to talk to Scott from the Bear's Den about obtaining a table
again this year if there is a interest. This Expo is usually heavy into salt water and trout; very little into Warm-water fishing, so the Bass Pond is unique,
sparked an interest to past visitors who visited our table. Since it is on a Sunday this year, it's a better day/time for the fishing show than in the
past. Chance for STS Members can come by at leisure and hang around and swap tales with our fellow fly fishing bretherens, It has been a good past experience
and I thnk a lot of sportsmen who visit our table are quite surprized/impressed by our motto, ethics... I am able to stay for the whole day at the Expo since
I live close neraby. I am willing to setup a couple of computer laptops with slide show picture presentation of STS members fishing around the USA, variety of
fish they have caught, flies tied and where our members reside... We have been the only table who give away flies as people visit our stand.... Any thoughts..

I had good intentions last year of helping out but by the time I toured the whole show it was just about over. I am not sure whether I will be attending
this time due to the fact it is during the day during iceboating season. Sometimes Sunday's are the only day's I get to travel around to various frozen
venues in New England so I am not going to make any promises. I do hope to make it if our iceboat club's activities get snowed out though.

I have spoken to Scott, it is all set and he was trilled that STS will be attending his expo again this year, he got a lot of positive comments about The Bass
Pond. Hope several of the local members can come by and visit the Expo; Sunday, February 10th, 2008 at the Holiday Inn in Taunton, MA. They will providing
tables but we need to bring additional lighting, I have lights and extension cords. I will bring laptops for a slide show of members fishing around the US.
Scott wanted to know if Alec was going tie some classic Bass Flies for the Expo, I stated I'm sure he would...

John - Thanks a million for doing that! That is great news - I can't wait. I will NOT miss it this year and will tie up a storm, as well as have a nice
bass fly display. Let's hope some other STS member come along so we can encourage new membership. Thanks again John, you're the best! Merry Christmas

Spoke with Scott from the Bears Den again, he asked if our table was going to be vintage with the classic flies, I told him I was bringing some old fiberglass
fly rods for conversation pieces. Starting to put some bass pond pictures together for a slide show...there are some great photos from our web gang to show off

So far I have a good size table, plenty of lights for tying, a Lap top computer with a slide show with over 200+ contributed pictures of Bass Pond Members,
trophy fish caught, etc. I am bringing 1/2 dozen old fiberglass fly rod and reels for conversation pieces. I have made up a 24 X 36 Poster board for the Bass
Pond, 2 Bass Pond fliers to hand out to visitors as they come by and view our table and ask questions... We normally make flies and give them to folks as they
look over our table We are a unique warm water Bass Pond Group, all other tables will be about trout and saltwater flyfishing; come by and see Lefty Kreh...It
would be great to see some members again, so come by see the slide show of the bass pond gang and visit us. I will try to post the flyers so that you can view
them later
