Here's a couple of pics of some Mayan Cichlids from a recent trip to FL. These things are crazy hard fighing and super fast! What ever you do don't try

Neat critter - I'll bet they *do* fight. Look kind of like a souped-up warmouth.

Nice looking fish,...sure would like to tussle with one of those critters. Nice pictures.......looks like there are part peacock bass

These fish fight HARD! I mean you better have a firm grip on the rod or its gone. Really. I have found too that they like to hit the fly on the drop and that bead chain eye flies work the best. Based on their teeth they are minnow eaters. Those chubby lips hide some pretty nasty teeth. One outing I found a group of them hanging around drainage tube in fairly deep water and counted over thirty of them. By the eigth one they got wise to me and shut down. Never had such a work out in freshwater before
