I caught a couple largemouths and several shellcrackers this afternoon after work and a size 10 brim bug with black rubber legs. Mostly small frys but I
thought this one should get some recognition for his fight.

This is what I am catching dozens of shellcrackers on the past few days. These are not presentation grade flies, they are made to be a hard working fly and
easy to tie. They love the three strands of peacock herl, krystal flash and the crazy rubber legs
.

Still hammering the shellcrackers every night. I am almost burnt out from casting to the beasties. Caught about 20-25 last evening, in one spot about 15 feet
from the bank, 3-4 ft of water. The shoe in the picture is about 12 inches long.

As in the Jethro Tull song, Thick as a Brick. They get better as your arm grows tired from bringing them in!
Has anyone ever noticed that the fish are always looking down? What are they looking at? |
